Three-part session helping players to deal with collecting passes while a defender closes in.
This second practice puts the players in an environment that is more variable and therefore more challenging.
Divide the players into three teams. Set out a square area, split into quarters, with one player from two of the three teams locked into each. The players from the remaining team are positioned outside the area, one on each side, as support players. Place a small goal on each side of the area.
The two teams inside the area try to complete a small number of passes. Once a team does so, they aim to pass the ball into one of the small goals. The team in possession can use the support players, but their pass count will reset to zero. If a team is successful in passing the ball into a goal, they stay in the area. The other team swaps with the team acting as support players.
