This three-part session introduces receiving, passing, turning and communication.
This exercise is great for working on simple skillsets unopposed, before moving on to more complex ideas.
Divide players into two even teams – the Blues on the inside of the grid, the Reds, with a ball each, on the outside to begin with.
The Blues move around the inside of the grid, looking to receive from a Red player. They must call for the ball, take one touch to control, another to move the ball out of their feet and then pass back, before moving on to another free player.
Progression 1: Move from three touches to a one-touch pass back, moving quicker through the grid.
Progression 2: The Blues call and receive the ball. They must then turn into the grid, dribble through until they find a Red player without the ball, pass to them and then move on to a new player.
