Players select a festive-themed name and then battle for the ball during 1v1s, 2v2s or 3v3s in this exciting game.
Gives players a chance to express themselves in a low-pressure environment, and encourages teams to bond and support each other.
A regular pitch with goals. Split players into two teams, with no goalkeepers. Teams stand behind the line at each end. Players come up with names based on Christmas characters (Santa, Rudolph etc). They must be consistent across the groups and the coach, who stands outside the area with a ball, should know the names but not the players they belong to.
The coach shouts a character name and plays the ball into the middle. The two players with that name must race to the middle to win the ball and score a goal for their team. Play continues until a goal has been scored or the ball goes out of play, in which case neither team wins a point. Players then return behind their lines and the next name is called.
Progressions: Coach can call two names, then three and so on. They can also experiment with the type of pass they play into the middle.
