Use the following soccer drill, based on a tag game idea, to appeal to all age groups and to get players ready to focus on your soccer coaching session.
Run soccer warm-up drill using training bibs - start simple
Give two or three of your players training bibs to hold in their hand and ask them to tag other players below the waist with the bib. Once tagged, the player takes over being a tagger.
You can advance this soccer drill using game-like situations
1.Tag drill with dribbling Tell all players to dribble a ball while two or three chasers with training bibs in hand and ball at feet try to tag other players. Once tagged, the chaser takes over being the tagger.
2. Cannonball drill Get two or three players to hold a ball in their hands and chase dribbling players. Tell them to try and hit the dribbling players’ ball with a two-handed throw, if successful the dribbling player becomes another "cannonballer".
