This three-part session will develop your players’ ability to receive the ball, ready to shoot.
This is a small-sided game to build on the skills developed in the practice.
Set up a pitch with two goals and end zones. Both teams have players 1v1 in the end zones to score.
Players are only locked in zones when in possession.
At restarts, whether a goal is scored or not, all players must start in the middle zone. When the ball is back in play, players for the team in possession must look to get a player into the end zone before finishing in the goal.
The attackers should try to practice the two techniques from the previous parts of the session, working on movement and timing to receive, body shape to receive and first touch, to enable a quick and accurate shot.
