This is a fast game of rapid one-twos, thinking quickly and, crucially, spotting the opportunity to score goals.
During a game, teams will often wait too long to take a chance to shoot – this activity encourages players to think and shoot quickly.
You need lots of balls, bibs, cones, and six target goals or cones to create the different coloured goals. Set up an area of 15 x 15 yards. We’ve used six players and a server.
Split a group of six into three pairs, who play against each other, with one ball in play. Each team is assigned two goals to defend – they can score in any of the other four goals. After each goal, or each time the ball goes out, the coach plays a new ball in.
