Zigzag passing refers to quick combination passes through midfield. The aim of zigzagging is to work the ball through the pitch in order to construct a team’s attack. To use this type of tactic, midfielders must run on different angles to each other and with an open body stance. The aim is to play forward passes quickly through the opposition midfield.
