A full-back is facing goal, under pressure - what should they do next? Ian Barker describes four possibilities
In a competitive 11v11 game, a full-back is in possession, facing their own goal, under pressure from the opposition. The goalkeeper is very right-footed. Should the full-back:
A. Play the ball to the deep midfielder?
B. Play the ball across the goalkeeper, to their right foot?
C. Play the ball short to the goalkeeper’s left foot?
D. Turn out and play the ball down the line?
Tell us what YOU think the full-back should do next in the poll below. And don’t forget to let us know why!
