Set up 10-yard squares. Put players into pairs with a ball between them. Put them facing their partner on an opposite diagonal corner of a square. Place a water bottle/tall cone in the very centre of the square. Players look to pass the ball to their team mate and knock over the bottle/cone. The target is reset by the non-striking team every time. First pair to knock the bottle over five times wins.
Progression: On your signal both pairs pass at the same time.
In 10-yard squares, arrange five tall cones at varying distances from 5-10 yards. In teams of four, players take one pass at a time from a coned gate looking to knock the cones over. First team to do so wins. Put the winners against each other.
Play 4v4 on a 30x20-yard pitch. At one end have a five-yard ‘exclusion’ zone where no player can enter. Place four disc cones with a ball resting on them evenly along the back line of the exclusion zone. Teams must pass the ball and get into a position to knock a ball off the cone with a pass. The first team to knock all four balls off or knock the most off in a set time is the winner. If the ball goes out of play, pass the ball to either team.
If too many touches are taken, give an indirect free kick to the other team.
