Soccer Coach Weekly Issue 161

Welcome to your latest issue of Soccer Coach Weekly!

We’re very session heavy this week, with some really good ideas for you to have a look at.

First up, Binghamton University head coach Paul Marco shares a session which looks at running with the ball and beating a player on the dribble, with a particular focus on technical execution and speed.

We’ve also got a passing pattern, which helps players identify and work the ball to an open player, creating a team comfortable with progressing the ball at speed.

Finally, we have a fast-paced goalscoring practice which encourages players to shoot from distance.

The three-part session this week is from Steve Oakes. It is designed for the youngest players and works on attacking combinations.

We also have some insight from Andrea Neil, whose list of accolades is endless.

She was part of the first Canada team to play at the Fifa Women’s World Cup, in Sweden in 1995, and went on to feature in three other World Cups.

She ended her career having played for her country 132 times in 18 years and is now a Uefa A licensed coach.

This week, she shares her advice on working with players to unlock their true potential.
