Soccer Coach Weekly Issue 116

Coaching is nerve-wracking! I don’t think we say that anywhere near enough.

Standing in front of a group of humans, no matter their age, and having to lead a session can be a lot. It can be even more nerve-wracking if you’ve been away from it for a while.

I’ve written a few thoughts on page three on how you can ease some of the nerves. The main point, though? Be kind to yourself with it!

Elsewhere we’ve got tips on how you can be a colour-blind friendly coach, and an interview with Karla Thompson.

Karla has done incredible things for the women’s game, and she shares some of her thoughts on how we can continue to push it forward with Sam Snow.

Our consultant coach Carl Wild continues his series on soccer basics, this time looking at the skill of intercepting.

Carl covers what it is and how it’s done, before sharing a couple of practices you can use with your players.
I hope it’s as useful as the other parts of the series have been!
